The BAT Jordan, part of BAT international announced a partnership aiming to manufacturing Byblos cigarette brand with high quality for the benefit of the Regie, according to an agreement that was signed between both parties last August in Beirut.
The BAT announced in its statement that the partnership between the parties aims to manufacturing “high quality” Regie products in Jordan and exporting them to Lebanon “for sale in the local market”.
The partnership was announced during an event held under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Minister of Labor and in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mrs. Dana Al Zouebi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Investment Mr. Zaher Al Qatarna, and other Jordanian officials. The Regie was represented by Board members George Hobeika, Mazen Abboud, and Issam Salman; the Technical Advisor Salah Zidan; and the Director of Manufacturing Paul Ghoniemeh.
The company’s statement explained that the BAT plant in Jordan was chosen for the implementation of the project “due to its manufacturing excellence”, reminding of the plant’s awards, including “its distinction as the first BAT facility to achieve carbon neutrality in the Middle East (phase one and two) and being one of the leading plants in quality production in Asia, Pacific, and Middle East”.
The Secretary General of the Minist
