During its annual dinner, that was held yesterday, Thursday, at Hilton Habtoor Hotel, the Regie’s President and General Manager, Mr. Nassif Seklaoui announced that tobacco production rose during 2016 by 76% comparing to 2015, reaching 400 thousand boxes. He mentioned “a forth production line and four new brands” in the upcoming year. Seklaoui announced that sales have risen by 11% and profits by 5%, noting that smuggling had been reduced from 30% to 22%.
The dinner was attended, in addition to Seklaoui, by the MoF General Manager Mr. Alain Beffani, members of the Admnistration Committee Mr. Georges Hobeika, Mr. Mazen Abboud, Mr. Issam Salman, as well as a number of officials at the MoF, the Director of the National News Agency, Mrs. Laure Suleiman, agents of foreign tobacco companies, Heads of sale, and Heads or representatives of Regie suppliers.
