La Regie Libanaise de Tabacs at Tombacs (Regie) launched on Thursday at its headquarters in Hadat, in cooperation with "Arcenciel", an awareness campaign on sorting wastes.
In this regard, 155 Regie employees participated in the campaign which is part of a program aimed at preserving the nature and achieving the tenth priority in the pyramid of sustainable development.
The participants are from various levels as some of them are from high ranks, and mid-ranks, while others are from production teams.
In its statement, Regie stressed the importance of this project pointing out that it holds a positive impact on the economy and on the environment especially that it addresses an amount of solid waste that is usually dumped in landfills.
>At the booth, visitors took part in a competition designed to familiarize them with the Regie’s mission and its socio-economic impact. They also explored the Hadat factory through VR technology and watched a video retracing the Regie’s history since 1935.
Members of the Communication Team were present to interact with visitors and answer all their questions.
Coinciding with its 90th anniversary, the Regie’s participation in the exhibition aims “to shed light on one of the most important and successful models of efficiency and quality in the Lebanese public sector, at a time when Lebanese people are yearning for public institutions that live up to their expectations and ambitions,” according to a previous statement.
