Within the frame of sustainable development plan, the Regie announced its contribution to the Red Cross Center in Rmeich, South Lebanon. The financial contribution, aiming to accomplishing the center and preventing risks, was delivered by the Regie’s President and General Manager Mr. Nassif Seklaoui to the delegation that met Seklaoui in his office, representing the center.
The delegation was presided by ex-chief of the centre Mr. Nimer Al Alam, accompanied by Mr. Milad Al Alam and a first aid personnel.
The delegation thanked Seklaoui for the contribution underlining “the Regie’s role in developing local communities in different Lebanese regions”. As well, they offered Seklaoui a shield.
equipment, in addition to reducing the cost of production and help him market his production at prices that enhance income and increase investment incentives in agriculture in general, and tobacco farming in particular. In this regard the Regie is always backing us. We found in the Director General, Mr. Nassif Seklaoui, the brother farmer and the activist for the rights of farmers. He was always the best understanding, the best supporter, and the best defender of the rights of Akkari farmers looking for a decent living.”
"The Regie’s management has not only played its expected role in supporting farmer’s income but also, thanks to its valuable initiative, it opens today to a field that has long suffered of the lack of development. The Regie’s activities and projects, such as the one we are meeting for today, clearly contribute to strengthening the position of the region. It is no secret that the generous Akkar is in dire need of similar projects that strengthen its infrastructure, develop its investment environment, and benefit the current generations and give opportunity for future generations.”
Hussein
Then the Municipal Chief Mohammad Hussein delivered a speech in which he thanked the Regie and Mr. Seklaoui, saying that “this achievement complements previous achievements by the Regie, which was the first supporter of Akkari farmers and the permanent defender of their rights and livelihood. Today, the process of development in this disadvantaged region is taking shape and a road map is being developed to support farmers to stay in their land and boost their income.”
Seklaoui
Seklaoui gave a speech, in which he conveyed the greetings of the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and the Minister of Finance Ali Hassan Khalil: "Dear, today we come to our Akkar, conveying the greetings of the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, to meet with a good people and a generous land, whose appreciation we have received for our modest contributions in many ways. To Al Hayssa sitting in the heart of the plain just like it sits in the heart of the Regie, we come and our heart is filled with love, friendship, and sincere passion for our people. For the steadfast tobacco farmers, the arms wrapped in sweat and manhood, and for its good people and its dear municipal council presided by the brother and friend Muhammad Ali Hussein, who has keenly followed this project. They say that Akkar lies at the borders and we say that the nation can only go ahead thanks to its strong borders. When border towns are fine the heart of the nation will thus be. They say that Akkar lives in deprivation and poverty. We say that Akkar is rich; it is a fertile land and the reservoir of our national army that we celebrated yesterday its national day and we celebrate every day its heroism. They say that Akkar is remote from the center and we say that Akkar is in the heart of our homeland and its pulse. For all of this we have come today to our beloved Al Hayssa to announce a new era of mutual support and solidarity, in which there is no distinction between borders and center and we carry the responsibility together opening the doors of the future for our future generations.”
“We came to inaugurate the Regie public Hall, which we wanted to be more than a conference or meeting hall that goes beyond the limits of its four walls. We want it to be a space of meeting, a call for steadfastness, and a path towards the future, which will provide the people of this dear town with a space for intellect, social activities, culture, women's empowerment, training, and development. Development is not an option for us, rather a duty towards our people and a responsibility we carry toward every part of Lebanon from the south to the north, from the coast to Akkar. This space is only a practical translation of the sustainable development plan, under which the Regie has accomplished since its launching 170 projects in the north, south, Bekaa, and Akkar (Tal Hmeira, Qalayaat, Talbira, Al Arida, Borj Al Arab, Al Rihaniyah, Al Ghzeila, Al Minia”, he added.
He concluded: “Congratulation for Al Hayssa for this hall and we promise you that more developmental projects and cooperation are yet to come. I thank the generous people and Municipal Chief of Al Hayssa for this reception.”

In the end, Sakr presented the shield of tobacco farmers union to Seklaoui along with other two shields on behalf of the union and the municipality of Tel Beira. The Municipal Chief Mohammad Hussein offered Seklaoui and Regie officials shields on behalf of the Al Hayssa.
