In cooperation with the Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan, the Regie organized its fifth annual Senior Staff Meeting, during which the Regie’s President and General Director Eng. Nassif Seklaoui underlined the importance of “investing in knowledge in order to enhance professionalism in workplace”.
The two-day event was held at the Mist Hotel in Ehden, under the title “Leading Leadership Patterns for Institutional Culture in a Changing Time”. The meeting is one of a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership behavior at the Regie and supporting its senior staff in keeping up with the changes of the 21st century.
In his opening speech, Seklaoui noted that "the friendship between IFBF and the Regie has resulted in improvements in various fields”. He said that this five years long training experience should be taken as a model for other organizations. He said that each leader in the Regie took part in “the achievements, notably the industrial achievements and the anti-smuggling conference”. He highlighted the importance of the annual meeting in “enhancing relationship within the workplace and investing in knowledge to raise the level of professionalism in workplace and empower leadership role.” In this context, he said that the Regie now relates evaluation to promotion, announcing that specialized training sessions of modern leadership and management will be held for sany commonalities.” He underscored the resilience of both nations, stating, "It is not unusual for us to persevere in our endeavors, as we are people who do not yield to adverse circumstances; our presence here today is nothing but a statement of that spirit." Additionally, he expressed "solidarity with the Palestinians, the steadfast people of Gaza, and our people in southern Lebanon."
Seklaoui further highlighted the Regie’s commitment to a sustainable work ethic and its determination to combat functional paralysis in public positions. This approach has enabled the Regie to build a strong relationship with the Basil Fuleihan Institute for Economy and Finance, based on the belief that training is a vital element in promoting the growth of institutions and keeping pace with change.
He went on to highlight the institute’s consistent moral support, stating, “the institute has always played a crucial role in supporting the Regie morally by annually welcoming senior professionals from public institutions to glean insights from the Regie’s pioneering experiences.” He expressed the Regie’s deep satisfaction with the strong bond it has built with the Basil Fuleihan Institute over the past decade underscoring their unwavering commitment to this collaborative effort, which has fostered a culture of training and knowledge exchange across various administrative and specialized domains.”
In attendance at the meeting, President of the Basil Fuleihan Institute for Economy and Finance, Lamia Al-Moubayed Bissat, lauded the Regie as “a pioneering institution in corporate change management.” She commended its exceptional work in enhancing the capabilities of its high-ranking personnel at all levels. She also expressed the Institute’s privilege in contributing to the Regie’s commendable endeavors to keep pace with these significant efforts.”
She also noted that “Seklaoui stands out as one of the most prominent leaders in public sector institutions, skillfully harmonizing the attributes of effective leadership with a focus on productivity. His unique, humane approach prioritizes the well-being of his team, which has been instrumental in garnering support for his vision for those around him.”
Furthermore, she explained, “For these compelling reasons, we have included a field visit to this institution in the work program for the Iraqi delegation. This visit allows us to witness the tangible outcomes that stem from the alignment of a strategic vision with unwavering dedication and effective leadership".
