The Regie’s General Manager and President Mr. Nassif Seklaoui received the municipal chief of Abbassieh – Tyr, Mr. Khalil Hershi; presiding a delegation of the village. The delegation received a donation from the Regie as a contribution in accomplishing the foundation of a football field and a basketball field.
The initiative comes within the program of social and economic sustainability that aims to achieve social welfare and to respond to the requirements of local communities.
Hershi thanked Seklaoui for the contribution and underlined his role in supporting such communities and improving life conditions in different areas without any discrimination.

Seklaoui addressing the employees said: “Your efforts helped us upgrade and develop our work to cover different Lebanese regions from Tripoli to Al-Ghazieh to Bekfaya and only because of your efforts we were able to become a special example of the Lebanese industries and to get the ISO certification for our quality system.”
In this context, he added that “this year the standard of excellence was high,” pointing out that not only employees were excellent but also departments.
“166 employees from the production department along with a team from the accounting department and the procurement department were the reason behind this excellence and also behind signing agreements with partners such as Philip Morris, Japan Tobacco International, and Imperial Tobacco.”
Seklaoui also praised the responsible work of the syndicate and of the Mutual Fund that stood by the side of the employees and the sports committee that surpassed its sports roles and worked on the humanitarian aspects.
Pointing out that certain media outlets are targeting Regie despite all the success it’s achieving, Eng. Sekaloui said: “History can speak about our nationalism and about the times we risked the lives of our employees during war times to be able to collect the harvest from the farmers in occupied bordering regions.”
“The more they talk about Regie, the more we’ll become convinced that Regie is successful and this same path with continue from one generation to the other.”
Addressing the retiring employees, Seklaoui concluded: “We are now physically separated, but your memories will remain in every factory, every warehouse and every hallway!”
Yateem
For his part, the head of Regie syndicate Kamal Yateem described the honored employees by saying that they are “the people of trust and giving”.
He also praised the work of Eng. Seklaoui and the administration, pointing out that they have a vision that allows them to develop the work and enhance the social and financial situations of all employees.
Shield and Medals
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations Department Nahla Slim delivered an introductory speech in which she described this yearly event at Regie by saying it is “an event of loyalty and appreciation for those who spent their lives working for the interest of Regie.”
Consequently, the Production Department was honored for the achievements it made during the past year and the Accounting Department and the Procurement Department were also honored for assisting to achieve this success.
It is worth noting that
Leaf Tobacco Manager Eng. Mawla Abel El Mawla was honored with 2 shields from Regie and from the Mutual Fund, whereas Financial Supervisor Anis Iskandar was honored with a shield from Regie; both for their long and professional careers at Regie.
After that, all retiring employees were honored with medals.
The dinner had held a number of musical performances by Singer Sobhi Toufic.
