The four Arab countries participating in the second Assembly of national tobacco companies, hosted by the Lebanese Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombac on September 14th, will review the measures taken by these companies to protect the future of tobacco sector and discuss the main challenges facing it and the direct and indirect impact of international decisions on the future of these companies.
A joint action plan will be set in the light of the conclusions regarding fighting smuggling, supporting the farming and farmers, and developing and improving production. The meeting is expected to issue a statement entitled "Beirut Declaration 2".

• Being a greedy sector, the privatization of the Regie will definitely lead to cut the livelihood of more than twenty thousand families living from tobacco farming.
Finally, we advise whomever tends to direct false accusations, to seek accurate and genuine information before attacking the dignity of others for unknown and baseless reasons.
