The Municipal Chief of Hosh Tal-Safia, Bekaa, Mr. Abbas Moaouia accompanied by members of the municipal council visited today the General Manager of the Regie, Eng.Nassif Seklaoui.
Seklaoui was handed a shield in appreciation for the efforts paid by the Regie in financing and executing the project of artesian well in the village.
one windowtext;">Afterward, the major services that the RLTT offers were detailed through photo display; such as supporting tobacco prices, mechanization of agriculture and purchase operations, the shortness of the harvest purchasing phase, which lasted for thirty days instead of 5 months, as previously, the automatization of money transfer process in the bank account of every farmer, as well as organizing awareness sessions, and providing pesticides, pesticide spraying equipment, and personal safety kits in several communities of the region. The latest contribution manifested in supporting municipalities and financing some developmental projects that serve farmers (irrigation ponds – installing water networks and irrigation canals – building agricultural roads – and lately inaugurating an artesian well in Hosh Tel Safieh)

In return, the duty of the farmer is to offer harvest of high quality free of non-tobacco elements. As well, last years’ experience shall never be repeated, and soon, new procedures will be adopted concerning the purchase of 2015 harvest, given that every farmer shall bear his own responsibilities.
