In a ceremony held by the administration and syndicate of laborers and staff of the Regie Libanaise des Tabacs et Tombacs on the occasion of Labor Day and the Institutions’ 80th anniversary, Engineer Nassif Seklaoui, President of the Regie underlined that the Regie aims through its sustainable development plan, to become in the upcoming few years one of the sustainable tobacco companies in the world, reiterating the institution’s commitment to serving the country and its economy.
The event was attended by members of the administration committee Eng. Georges Hobeika, Mazen Abboud and Dr. Issam Salman along with representatives from the relevant authority and a number of Regies’s executives.

In his speech delivered on the occasion, Seklaoui said: “80 years passed through good times and hard times, challenge and perseverance, war and resistance, weariness and success, considering the Regie today as one of the most important public institutions in Lebanon”.
Addressing the staff and workers, he said: “every drop of your sweat helped the Regie’s crop grow and its name shine even brighter”. The efforts deployed by the Regie throughout the past few years bore fruit that we can be proud of, be it the reform and automation on the agricultural level, , Seklaoui met a delegation from AlGozeileh, receiving a contribution from the Regie to establish a hall for social events. The delegation offered shields to Seklaoui and Tobacco Leaf Manager, Mr. Abdel Mawla AlMawla.
Delegations thanked Seklaoui for the Regie’s initiatives, underlining its developmental role as well as its achievements in the last few years, not to mention its commitment to support local communities in different regions.
Seklaoui, in turn, stressed that the Regie is proud of the developmental plan that it adopted in its 80th anniversary. As well, he reassured the Regie’s commitment to support citizens of different Lebanese villages within the frame of its developmental plan.
