Following yesterday’s raid on a counterfeit Mu’assal factory in Al Mraijeh area, the Regie seized large quantities of barrels containing tobacco ready for manufacturing. The warehouse was subsequently sealed with red wax under the directive of Financial Public Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim. Despite the judicial order, factory owner Mahmoud Diab Zaarour opened the main door at night and removed the barrels intended for production.
Today, another significant discovery was made as authorities uncovered a large warehouse concealed behind a false wall. Inside were substantial amounts of sawdust and animal feed used as materials in the manufacturing process of mu’assal. These items were promptly confiscated by the regulatory authority. Legal prosecution will be pursued against the responsible parties through the appropriate judicial authorities.
