During the celebration of the municipal palace in Yammouneh – Bekaa on Sunday, the Regie’s President and Director General Eng. Nassif Seklaoui declared that the purchase of the season’s tobacco harvest will be in fresh dollar. He invited to allowing again to public administration achieving financial profits to allocate part of their revenues to support municipalities, which would enable the Regie to pursue its sustainable development project.
The ceremony was attended by the municipal chief, Talal Shreif; members of the municipal council; the Deputy Chief of staff in the army, Brigadier Ali Ghaleb Shreif; the Dean of the Islamic University in Baalbek, member of the Bekaa Region leadership in Amal Movement, Dr. Ayman Zeaiter; several municipal chiefs, mayors, social and political figures, and a crowd of residents.
The Municipal chief of Yamouna, Talal Shreif, welcomed Seklaoui and thanked the Regie for its contribution to the completion of the municipal palace. A documentary film on the municipality's most prominent achievements was screened.
Seklaoui conveyed the greetings of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and his congratulations to the residents of Yamouneh on the completion of the municipal palace, describing it as a "remarkable achievement in light of the government’s abstain from carrying its duties towards villages and municipalities."
